Want to learn punk guitar in the style of Green Day, The Clash, Rise Against, The Offspring or The Stooges? Guitar lessons give you a flying start!

Punk is technically straightforward, but physically demanding. Nearly everything is built on power chords, played with relentless downstrokes at high tempos. That sounds simple, until you have to keep a whole Ramones song tight at 180 bpm. So in the lessons we train the stamina of your picking hand and the muting of the strings that shouldn’t ring.

We also look at the differences within the style: the raw eighth notes of The Stooges ask for something different than pop punk à la Green Day, which also uses octave runs and palm muting.

An electric guitar with some overdrive is enough to get started. I’ll pick out a song with you that sits just above your current level, so you’re working on real punk songs from week one.
