You’ve found the right teacher. As a true jazz aficionado, with a love for both the warm sound of an archtop jazz guitar and the clean tone of a telecaster, I’ll gladly guide you on your journey into the world of jazz improvisation.

I graduated from the Conservatory of Amsterdam in the popular-music department, with jazz and improvisation as my great love. That background is something I enjoy passing on.

What we do

  • Chord melody, playing solo arrangements where melody and harmony meet.
  • Improvisation, soloing over jazz standards and more modern jazz-rock repertoire, in a combo or with backing tracks.
  • Comping, accompanying a singer or soloist with taste.
  • Jazz harmony, the theory behind the music, applied practically on the fretboard.

Whether you want to get your first standards under your fingers or you’re working toward complex chord progressions and a voice of your own: we build it step by step, from music that moves you. This is also the right place for conservatory preparation.
