Improvisation is the spontaneous creation of ideas on the spot.
Improvisation in music takes many forms. We work within tight frameworks, but also without any nameable framework at all. Improvising is about creating a tension between structure and the unknown: setting off on an adventure with sound.
Lessons involve a lot of improvising. After all, we have to find our way with the material we’ve learned, and in modern styles that usually happens through some form of improvisation. On top of that, your teacher has an immeasurable love for improvised music. Improvising is freedom.
The improvisation lessons are open to all music lovers, whatever your instrument. Improvising is about concepts, approach and style. The most obvious style is jazz, but you can improvise in any style, as long as you know its frameworks.
