Pop

The acoustic guitar, the electric guitar and the bass guitar shaped the sound of pop music for years. With the rise of the computer and digital music the guitar was pushed back for a while, but today it’s fully back. The guitar is here to stay.

Singer-songwriters can’t do without the guitar, and many pop songs are written using the acoustic, and sometimes the electric, guitar.

Pop music comes up daily in lessons too. Repertoire from the Top 2000 and current songs from the radio and YouTube are popular with students. And because it’s mostly accessible music, which a good teacher plays back by ear with ease, you can get it under your fingers quickly too.

The important thing is that, despite the simplicity of much pop music, you build a good technique. The teacher makes sure of that.
